Have you tried practically everything to get a better night’s sleep? You’re not alone. More than 1.6 million Americans say that they’ve experimented with herbal remedies, relaxation techniques and other methods to get to sleep, according to a recent study from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. But which really work? Researchers have come up with a few suggestions. Read on to find out what strategies experts say you can employ to get a better night’s sleep—starting tonight.
Try a cup of chamomile tea. This beverage contains glycine, a chemical that acts as a mild sedative, say researchers from Imperial College London. And since glycine is also a muscle relaxant, it may help reduce the pain of menstrual cramps. Tip: You’ll want to drink your tea at least an hour or more before bedtime if nighttime trips to the bathroom pose a problem.

Sleep in a recliner or with the head of your bed elevated. Also, don’t eat for one hour before you go to bed.
Tums should help a lot. Or, if you’re not lactose intolerant, 1 hour before bed time drink a glass of milk very slowly and chew on some crackers. Very slowly now. Hope I helped.
Don’t eat for 2 hours before sleep. Elevate bed or pillows 8-11 inches.
Try Tums.
Go to MD & try another medication, because you want to protect your esophagus.
Feel better
Try to wait an hour or so after eating before you lie down. I know that helps me trememdously. Even if it’s just a small snack and you lie on the couch. Sleep with your head elevated.
