Does your baby have acid reflux?
Does your little one have AR? What meds did your MD give them? What are some ways to comfort her? I have completely changed my diet as directed, but she still gets upset. Sometimes if I lay her flat in the pack n play she cries and cries until I sit her in a recline position. Is this reflux pain? Does your baby have a lot of drool too?
She has been diagnosed and does take Zantac twice a day. I was just curious how other AR babies were doing.

My infant daughter had acid reflux and spent the first 3 months of her life screaming until we figured out what the problem was and worked on correcting it.
She was prescribed Axid by her pediatrician which worked wonders and we also used a wedge to prop up one end of her crib mattress. If she isn’t sleeping in a crib yet, letting her sleep in her bouncy seat or car seat can help too.
My daughter is four months and has acid reflux, she generally hates being on her back, although since she is now taking baby zantac she can handle it for longer. And yes, i do think it’s because of the acid coming up from their bellies that is hurting them. I prop her as much as possible, she prefers being on her belly and i think that might be because it is more comfortable due to the acid reflux. Yes, she drools all the time, lol, i just thought that was baby drool, never associated that with the acid reflux.
My daughter is also a belly sleeper, because putting her on an incline was pretty much ineffective for.
My son has it he is almost 4 months old and has had it since birth pretty much. They put him on Zantac twice a day and when that isn’t enough Mylanta twice a day on top of the Zantac. My son is a stomach sleeper. Though when he was on his back we always put a pillow under the mattress of his crib. We also keep him up right for about half an hour after his feedings. We usually just put him in his bumbo seat. It really does sound like reflux. Drooling is a symptom of AR. My son does drool a lot. Talk to your doctor if you haven’t already about maybe putting her on medicaiton.
My 4 month old has acid reflux…it kicked in around 2 weeks of age. We give him zantac and it seems to help. The crying when she is flat on her back is rerflux pain…are you giving her anything for it? If you are, it may not be working, the meds should eliminate most of the discomfort associated with GERD. My son does drool a lot, but I think it is more from teething that from his reflux. Always make sure you hold your daughter upright for at least 20 minutes after a feeding. This usually helps with the reflux. Do you have a crib wedge for her crib? Sleeping on an incline also helps. If she is 3 months or older, try getting a bumbo seat. My son loves to sit up in his bumbo seat. A bouncer could also work for times wehn you need to set her down if she doesn’t like laying flat on her back. Good luck!
Our daughter was dx’d with acid reflux when she about 3 days old and still in the NICU. The dr. suspected when she kept spitting up most of what was being fed to her (through her tube feeding). They did an upper GI and found that this was what is was. Our pediatrician put he on Zantac every 8 hours. Unfortunately we had kind of slacked at giving her her medicine because she seemed like she was doing ok – big mistake! For a couple days she was VERY fussy and would gag often for an hour or more after she took her bottle. So we are faithfully giving her her medicine every 8 hours again until the dr tells us she does not need it. I have her sitting in her car seat right now to keep her upright after she ate. She does much better if she is sitting up a little and she doesn’t spit as much. I do believe the acid reflux causes discomfort to them just as severe heartburn would for us. She is only 5 weeks so she does not drool too much yet.
My daughter has had it since she was born she is 4 months old now and still has it. She sleeps next to me elevated on a pillow she has never been able to sleep laying flat.
my dd is and has been on for most of her life zantac, she’s 9 mos tomorrow…best thing is after you feed her, keep her up at least a 45 degree angle for 30mins, no tummy time or anything that puts pressure on it for at least an hour; mine drools too but it’s from teething, i don’t think your baby is drooling from reflux…if your baby is on a med and it still crying in pain, you need to talk to the doc and see if they can change it to something that works better for her…
if she is formula fed, ask your doc about trying enfamil AR; it’s thickened with rice starch to help reflux babies keep it down, thickens again when it hits the stomach, so less is coming back up from the stomach into the esophagus…worked wonders for us….gl, hth
