Both can.
Eating less fatty and spicy foods, not smoking and reducing alcohol can help.
Medication wise, PPIs such as Lanzoprozole and H2 receptor antagonists like Zantac can help reduce the amount of acid produced in your stomach.
Suregery can also help if there’s a hiatus hernia present.
you should diffinately consult a doctor before you do anything. prolonged acid reflux can do alot of damage
and can be treated with medication. changing what your eating can also help .stay away from high acid foods
like pizza, spagetti, orange juice or spicy foods
You may need to see a Gastro Intestinal Doctor for sure. You should not smoke and stay away from spicy foods and sauces too. You may have to be scoped to see if there is damage in your esophagas. In any case I think that you need to be on some medication for sure.
Hmmm… it’s getting into your lungs… not good. I would start taking prilosec asap. But don’t do this for a long term cure. Prilosec is only a temporary fix for reducing acid. It’s not recommended to take for a long time. The acid production in your stomach is most likely caused by h. pylori bacteria which can cause ulcers. You can cure this by taking one teaspoon twice a day of colloidal silver which will destroy the bacteria. As long as you don’t take more than the recommended dose, CS is perfectly safe…. I’ve been taking it for over a year. Also do as the med student said and watch your diet. A vegetable, fruit, and whole grain based diet will do wonders for your entire digestive system.
Go to your doc, and ask for Prevacid, or Aciphex. Both have worked miracles for me. But yes, altering your diet a bit will help as well
I found some good info here.
