should i keep giving my son soy-silk milk?
my son is going on 14 months and when he turned 12 months he was on cow’s milk but i noticed that he was pooping 7 times a day, so i changed milk and started to give him soy-silk since then he poop normaly 3 or 4 times a day not more unless he is teething. But what i don’t understand is when i give him yogurt the 1 with cow’s milk he is fine or cheese or butter stuff like that don’t really make him poop alot just cow’s milk tho! It was not the doc suggestion to change milk but my own i juste wanted to test it because for a long time as a baby and infant he was on soy formula due to acid reflux then when hi sreflux went away the doc put him on regular formula and he was pooping 4 to 5 times a day.

You should ask for a referral to an allergy specialist. It sounds like you have the right idea, and I have heard that sometimes kids can’t drink milk but cheese, yogurt and ice cream are okay. But with a 14 month old it’s not a good idea to make major changes without a doctor’s okay. If he continues to be sick under the advice of the current doctor (which sounds like the situation) get him allergy tested or get a new pediatrician, or both.
Good luck!
The big reason to have him on whole cows milk is that there is not enough fat in soy milk for his growing brain, you can however remedy this by adding whole milk yogurt to his diet which he seems to tolerate. The pooping may or may not be due to the milk, my sons increased their number of bowel movements around 14 months from 4-5 a day to 6-7, and this lasted a long time.
