What causes acid reflexes and how can I stop it?

So I have never had acid reflexes until this year and I don’t know why it just started this year. I talk to my doctor about it and he gave me prilosec for only a short time. It helped a little but not to the point wear it stopped it all together. I’m not on it anymore and my acid reflexes are coming back.
What can I do to stop it or at least help it to reduce less?
Thanks. ![]()

Acid Reflux. I don’t know your daily diet – but try cutting back caffeine (coffee, pop/soda, tea) and MSG (think Chinese buffet). A better/healthier diet should ease most cases of mild and infrequent heart burn/acid reflux – even better than the quick fixes of over-the-counter Prilosec, Zantac, Rolaids, Tums or Pepcid.
Your acid reflux will probably never go away. You will need to continue with the prilosec or Nexium.
Sometimes, losing weight can relieve some of the acid problems if you are overweight.
I have had acid reflux for over 15 years and it will never go away
there was a surgery for it, but too many people died so they stopped it.
