Acid Reflux – Natural Cures – Can anyone please give me first hand advice.?
I am suffering from chronic acid reflux and I would like to hear from anyone who has successfuly treated it without medication. I have taken Zantac and Omeprazole but do not like the side affects. It is getting me down as I dread eating anything. I am eating non acid forming foods, drinking only water and herbal tea, however I still wake every night. I do not eat after 6pm either. Any suggestions please, but not from anyone who is just trying to sell information. Thank you

Try Braggs’s organic apple cider vinegar. 2-4 tsp in a glass of water before meals and before bedtime. Sweeten with honey or whatever you like.
This has helped me tremendously and is a drug free, natural cure for acid reflux.
I hope you get the results I do. Give it time to work and don’t stop using it just because you feel better.
i too have chronic acid reflux.my doctor gives me ranitadine tablets & i have not had any side affects.the only other thing that helps me is to take regular tiny sips of milk.
Strange, I’ve never heard of anyone complaining of side affects from
ranitidine/Zantac, or Omeprazole/Prilosec. I’ve never heard of any natural cures or controls that actually work.
A problem my husband has from time to time.
He took Mucaine which seemed to help with the "soreness" feeling, plus Ranitidine.
Sleeping "high" (propped up on pillows) appears to help.
He also found that the biggest culprit in his diet was bread. When the reflux happens he gives up bread and all other wheat products for a few days. There are some lovely round, yellow corn cakes which you can buy in Sainsburys and Tesco (Morrisons don’t stock them) made, I think, by a firm called Ideal foods in Australia, and he eats those. So do I – they’re good with butter and cheese.
You are probably short of digestive enzymes. The mainstream medical profession tend to assume that everyone with indigestion, heartburn, reflux etc has too much acid but the referse is actually more common. Try taking digestive enzymes with each meal. Make sure you give your digestion a good chance of working so no fast food (anticipation and getting your gastric juices flowing is an important part of good digestion), sit at a table to eat and eat slowly chewing each mouthful fully. Do not drink whilst you are eating as this only dilutes your stomachs acid further. You should drink about half an hour before food and if its a heavy meal not for a couple of hours after although sipping a little water or wine is fine.
