I’m taking medication for it, but I’m wondering if it will ever go away.

yes just take your meds. ive taken prilosec for years and it keeps everything in check
Yes it can be repaired I am living proof. I took medication, Omeprazole 20 mg, for about 1 to 2 years and now I only have to take it on occasion when I have a little problem. It repaired the problems that I was having due to acid reflux, GERD, an ulcer also. This is a generic name but it works wonders for me. Make sure the doctor is giving you something that will fix your problem, not just deal with the symptoms. If you don’t ask you will not know if what he is giving you is one or the other. There are meds that just help with the symptoms, then there are meds like Omeprazole that actually fix the problem. I take it when I’ve eaten something spicy or are having a little problem with acid. Its the best medication I could recommend to you. Good luck~!
